About Us


Jane Albright
Jane Albright is the Head Women’s Basketball coach for the University of Nevada Wolf Pack. She earned a Master’s in physical education and sports psychology and served as a grad assistant for Pat Summitt at Tennessee.  Jane played basketball and volleyball at Appalachian State and received a degree in health and physical education. Jane lives in Reno with her shelties, Heaven and Isaac.



Cheryl Baird
Cheryl Baird is a Licensed Professional Counselor.  She earned All-American honors at Wheaton College where she also earned her BA and MA in counseling psychology.  She lives in Wheaton, IL with husband Brian, David, Chrissy and Nikki.  Cheryl enjoys text messaging, massages and hot tubs.



Jen Bell
Jen Bell, former Head Softball Coach at Gordon College, is now co-coaching with her husband Ed, Team Bell, twin four-year olds, Jamison and Samuel and two year old Riley.  She graduated from Gordon College with a BA in psychology.  Jen lives in Newbury, MA and enjoys fishing and playing guitar.



Meg Benevides
Meg Benevides is the Special Olympics Massachusetts Associate South Section Director. Meg earned All-American honors in field hockey during her tenure at Gordon College where she double majored in Recreation and Leisure Studies and Business Administration.  Meg currently lives on the south shore in MA.   Meg enjoys playing racquetball, shopping, working out and cheering on her beloved Boston Red Sox!



Amy Bowen
Amy Bowen is the Program Director of EarthWorks, an organic urban farm in Los Angeles that employs youth to grow vegetables and fruit to give to low income families and sell (at very low cost) to a community without access to fresh organic vegetables.  Amy Bowen graduated from Gordon College with a degree in English and Language Arts and Biblical and Theological Studies and minor in Spanish.  While studying there she enjoyed competing at the Division 3 level, captaining both the volleyball and basketball teams and earning Academic All-American honors for basketball. Amy also holds a Masters in Education from Northeastern University  During her coaching career as Head Volleyball Coach at Gordon College she led her team to the NCAA national tournament. She loves backpacking, fly-fishing, canoeing, and hiking.  Amy lives on the edge of the San Gabriel Mountains in Altadena, CA with her husband Sten and dog Sequoia.



Valerie Gin
Valerie Gin is on the faculty at Gordon College where she also served as Head Volleyball and Softball coach.  She graduated from Greenville College and earned graduate degrees at Eastern Illinois University and Boston University.  Val is a consultant for the Honduran National volleyball teams and is a Lecturer at the International Sport Leadership Schools in South Africa and India.  She loves to read, ski, fly fish and kayak.



Debbie Haliday
Debbie Haliday is Athletic Director and Head Girls Basketball coach at Hillcrest Christian School. She is a UCLA grad and started on two national championship teams in basketball and softball.  She and her husband Lance, Matthew, Ryan and Bethany live in Granada Hills, CA.  Debbie loves to coach, write, play basketball, fish, camp and kayak.



Jon Harshaw
Jon Harshaw played college lacrosse at Gordon College when he graduated with a degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies.  Jon works on a farm outside of Philly.  He is contemplating a career in coaching.  Jon loves kids, competing in anything and everything and dancing.



Samuel Lee
Samuel Lee works as an athletic trainer at Castle High School in Kaneohe, Hawaii.  He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Licensed Massage Therapist.  Sam graduated from Indiana University with a BS degree in health education & athletic training and received an MS degree in sport management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.  He enjoys basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, and running.  Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, Sam now lives in Hawaii with his wife – Karen and their two children – Nathan and Jessica.



Roger Lipe
Roger Lipe is a Field Representative for the Fellowship of Christian
Athletes in the 26 southernmost counties of Illinois.  He was born and
raised in Carbondale and currently resides there with his wife, Sharon.
Their son, Jason and his wife, Jenn, live in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.



Kathy Malone
Kathy Malone is the chaplain for the WNBA Indiana Fever and a Certified Athletic Trainer at Methodist Sports Medicine Center in Indianapolis, Coordinator of the Urban Outreach Program.  Kathy was born in NYC, raised in Maryland and played basketball at the University of Delaware as a Fighting Blue Hen! She attended graduate school at Ball State University.  Kathy enjoys gospel music and reading all kinds of books.



Suzy Mathieson
Suzy teaches physical education and coaches volleyball at Edison High School in Huntington Beach, CA.  She is married to Gary and has a 9 year old daughter, Kacey.  All of them love to surf, skateboard, ski and play!



Tammy Mentus
Tammy Mentus teaches and coaches field hockey and basketball at Manchester-Essex High School in Manchester-by-the Sea, Massachusetts.  Her two daughters Tambrey and Tenny earned All American honors in field hockey. She holds a BS in geology from  UMass Amherst and an M.Ed in Counseling and Guidance from Salem State University. Tam enjoys being a grammy, tennis, skiing, kayaking, hiking, gardening, and  reading.



AJ Migonis
AJ Migonis teaches history and coaches cross country and swimming at Manchester Essex Middle School.  He graduated and ran cross country at Colgate and earned a Master’s at William & Mary.  He has run in 13 marathons consistently placing in the top 5%.  AJ enjoys running, swimming, and biking.



Angie Miller
Angie Miller is in her 16th year as an athletic trainer at Avon High School
in Avon, Indiana . A native of Anderson, Indiana, Angie received her bachelor’s degree in athletic training and social studies education from Ball State and her master’s degree in physical education with a specialization in athletic training from Ohio University.  She enjoys traveling and working with teens.



Kimberly Otsuji
Kimberly Otsuji is teaching physical education and coaching lacrosse at St. Margaret’s School in Bushey, Hertfordshire England.  Kim played field hockey and lacrosse at Gordon College where she double majored in Recreation and Leisure Studies and Psychology.  She loves to travel, run, shop and play.

Jen (JP) Shinn
Jen Price was a Division 1 basketball coach for nine years with tenures at Ball State, North Carolina State, San Diego State and Penn State.  She is a Taylor University grad. Her interests include biking, triathlons, guitar, people and coffee! She lives in Santa Barbara with husband Garth,Kinsley, Keaton and their dog Zak.



Rich Sparling
Rich Sparling is the Director of Latin Ministries for Baseball Chapel, chapel leader of the Philadelphia Phillies and head baseball coach at Philadelphia Biblical University. After college, Rich played semi-pro soccer and was invited to a major league tryout with the Orioles.  He did his undergrad work at PBU and earned a Master of Education in Recreational Program Administration at Temple University. Rich lives outside of Philly with wife Bev, Richie and Brittany.
